About me

Hi! I’m Lisa. A photographer, poet, and writer drawn to remote and unusual places.

My work begins in stillness—watching, listening.

Then, through actively engaging with both culture and landscape, I gather fragments of daily life: a line of haiku, an impromptu photograph, a typical soundscape.

Woven together, these pieces reveal the quiet truths of places few will ever visit — stories that invite others to wander beyond well-worn tourist paths, to travel slowly, and to notice deeply.

A few other things about me:

• I currently live in Arctic Greenland but am originally from Inverell, a small town in Australia.
• I used to be a professional astronomer – living and working in Chile for almost 5 years.
• I love long-distance trekking. Have a look at my Unplugged Wilderness, South Patagonia Icefield Expedition, Huayhuash Circuit Trek or Arctic Circle Trail posts for inspiration.
• I am a super-keen foodie, willing to try anything typical to the country I’m visiting. I’m also fascinated by languages, local music and traditional artistry.
• I speak English and Spanish and am trying to learn Greenlandic (not easy!)
• I play the alto recorder, tenor recorder, and flute.
