Haiku & Haibun
At various times in my life, I’ve written 3-line poems with the structure of 5-7-5 syllables. “A haiku!” you say. Well, no, not really.
In 2023, I started working with a professional haiku and haibun writer to truly understand the traditional Japanese haiku form. I am drawn to its focus on the natural world, its use of concrete imagery, and its imperative to slow down and fully experience the moments of my life.
I’m currently working on my first book of haiku/haibun about my experiences living here in Arctic Greenland.
